PRIVY COUNSELLOR FOR LIFE ACT 2021 [ Passed 13-0, Royal Assent: September 26, 2021 ] AN ACT to regulate the term of privy counsellors even in the event of the demise of the crown. BE IT ENACTED by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords and Burgesses in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1. SHORT TITLE This act may be cited for all purposes as “Privy Counsellor for Life” Bill 2. APPOINTMENT FOR LIFE A. All members appointed by the Sovereign to the Privy Council Shall serve for life even in the event that the crown is ‘demised’ B. Nothing in this bill will prevent a member from resigning their position and becoming reappointed at the will of the sovereign. C. The privy council may be rearranged in regard to official title/position, yet retaining the membership of the council. D. A Counsellor may be discharged from service by the sovereign if they are convicted of any unlawful activity 3. VOTING MEMBERS Only Ministers of the current Government are entitled to a vote. All other members can participate in debate and give advice. 4. COMMENCEMENT This legislation and all the provisions therein shall come into force upon receiving the Royal Assent
