RESOLUTION EXPRESSING OUR SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLE OF AFGHANISTAN [Passed: Unanimous Consent, 19th September 2021]

A RESOLUTION expressing our solidarity with the People of Afghanistan, calling for the rights of all to be respected, and for peace. WHEREAS, the Taliban has recently overthrown the Democratically elected Government of Afghanistan: WHEREAS, the people of Afghanistan have been in fear for their future rights and liberties and for peace in the region: WHEREAS, the Taliban has a history of committing atrocities and oppressing women and minorities: WHEREAS, the people of Afghanistan deserve their rights and liberties and to live in peace: Now therefore, be it RESOLVED that this Parliament: 1. Expresses its solidarity with the People of Afghanistan 2. Calls upon the new regime in Afghanistan to respect the rights of all people 3. Calls for peace in Afghanistan and for its people 4. Condemns any terrorism, terrorist acts, or terrorist groups operating in Afghanistan and throughout the wider world.
